Youth Music Theatre Audition
Sunday, May 24, 10am to 4pm - teens aged 13-17 (registration deadline May 19)
Sunday, May 31, 10am to 4pm- youth aged 8-12 (registration deadline May 26)
A one day workshop with industry professionals that takes you through each of the disciplines, giving you tips and tricks on how to give your best in the audition room. Get insight on what the musical director is looking for, understand how to give the most on your acting sides, and how to go beyond the technique in a dance call.

Music Theory
June 9, 6-8pm (registration deadline June 8)
An online introduction to music theory with Mean Girls music director, Tony Discenza. The workshop will be an entry level understanding of sheet music. Geared towards musical theatre performers but great for choreographers, lighting designers and stage managers.

Choreography
June 13, 12:30pm - 5pm (registration deadline June 10)
An afternoon of learning from the choreographer of BOTG’s Rock of Ages and the upcoming Mean Girls. Gain insight to Penelope’s creation process and understanding as to how choreo supports story. You will have the option to try working on your own choreography with feedback. An excellent opportunity for those that are new to or developing choreographers, as well as dancers and directors.

Adult Music Theatre Ensemble

Love a big, shiny production number? This one’s for you! Come together to learn the music and choreo for an exciting group number and shape up that muscle memory. This is a chance to practice harmonies, pick up dance quickly, and put it all together without missing a beat!

Theatre Jazz

Come expand your skill set with a variety of choreographers. Each class will feature a different instructor who will take you through a warm up and then teach you broadway style choreography.

Character Development
Thursday May 7 - 28, 7pm - 8:45pm with Chantal Forde (registration deadline May 5)
A four week session designed to help you find tools to build your characters. Using text work, physical play, and breath and voice you will dig into a variety of ways you can create connected, authentic characters. We may use a combination of monologues, scenes, and songs as a basis. (Singing will not be a required part of participation).

Scene Study
Saturdays, May 23 - June 13, 10:00am-12pm with Chantal Forde (registration deadline May 19)
A four week scene study where you will have the opportunity to dig into characters, relationships, and blocking. Discover how to break down a scene for the clearest and most interesting story arc, how to play objectives, and explore dynamic blocking.

Monologues
Thursday June 18 - July 9, 6:15-8pm with Chantal Forde (registration deadline June 12)
Over this four week session you will gain tools to help you strengthen your monologues for auditions. From creating a defined relationship and strong objective, you will find ways to drop into character and ensure that the room is with you every step of the way.

Text Analysis for Actors and Directors
Thursday June 18 - July 9, 8- 9:45 with Chantal Forde (registration deadline June 12)
The work often begins with the text. This session will dig into how you can use the playwright’s text and structure to give you insight into subtext and ideas as to how build vibrant characters and scene work. From the magic of punctuation to finding the catalyst of an emotional shift, the course is designed to help you lift the words from the page with purpose.

Adult Musical Theatre Audition
Thursday, July 23 - Aug 13, 6:30-9:30 (registration deadline July 16)
Singing is only the first part! From understanding objectives and obstacles within the song, to ensuring that you have a clear arc and defined character, this session is intended to help you strengthen your musical theatre audition. Get the right cut for your piece, know how to walk into a room with confidence, and bring your audition skills to the next level.
