Have a dream show you’ve always wanted to put on stage? Here’s your chance to make it happen!

The BurlOak Theatre Group is accepting pitches and proposals of plays and musicals for potential future production in the 2027/2028 season and beyond. Prospective producers and directors are invited to submit proposal packages by August 31, 2026. Proposals can be submitted in any format, whether written, visual, or a combination of both.

 

Your proposal must include the following details:

• The title and author(s) of the play or musical

• An outline for your vision of the production

• A cast size and breakdown

• The needs of technical production (including possible budgets between $10,000 to $20,000, excluding theatre rentals and royalties)

• Whether the show is most suitable for a main stage space (500 seats) or a studio theatre (120 seats)

• What makes you passionate about this project? Why is this the perfect choice for Oakville audiences?

 

We ask you to consider the following criteria:

• Shows that have not been produced in Halton region within the last 18 months or upcoming 18 months

• Licensing rights for the proposed title must be available for Ontario, Canada

• While all genres are reviewed and welcome, the majority of BOTG productions are comedies

• Productions should be predominantly in English

• Main stage shows should feature casts of at least six performers, and studio shows at least two performers (please, no solo shows)

 

Even with the above guidelines, we’re interested in all titles and possible productions, and all submissions will be thoroughly reviewed.
