SYNOPSIS

We are back for our 10th Anniversary! We're going back to where it all began ...with a twist. Welcome to Cinderella Potter!

Cinderella has always known she was different. She's always sensed something magical within - not that her wicked step family, the Worstley's, would let her know.  Finally, rescued by a trusty finch and whisked off to  the school for witchcraft and wizardry, Cinderella will discover her true power, battle a stinky wizard, and might even fall in love with a prince.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

CINDERELLA (F, 20+ plays early 20’s): smart, sweet, and ready for life to bring something new her way. She learns she is a wizard and everything changes. Great singer, comfortable with some improv, good dancer.

BABSY (Any gender, 20+ plays early 20’s): Cinderella's evil step-sister, extremely talkative know it all who is all about bossing around a kingdom. Good singer, great comedic skill, comfortable with improv, good dancer.

GRABSY (Any gender, 20+ plays early 20’s): Cinderella's other evil step-sister, very greedy, and is all about being royalty so she can have anything she wants. Good singer, great comedic skill, comfortable with improv, good dancer.

STEPMOTHER (Any gender, 30-65 plays 40-60): Cinderella's stepmother - glamourous, sophisticated, evil. She thinks that anything nice or sweet is just dreadfully boring. And when she meets the most evil character of all… she’s smitten. Good singer, great comedic skills, moves well, comfortable with improv.

FUMBLEMORE (Any gender, 30-80+ plays 50-75): Head Wizard of Hogelby and father to Henry. He would appear extremely regal were it not for his tragic clumsiness. Good singer, great physical comedy, moves well.

HENRY (M, 20+ plays early 20’s): Fumblemore's son. His father wants him to marry a good wizard but he just can't imagine anyone wanting to spend their life with the world's worst wizard. Good comedic skills, great singer, good dancer.

HEDWIG THE HANGRY FINCH (Any gender, 18+):  a green, avian-inspired drag queen who acts as main messenger for Stumblemore and gets easily “hangry". Great physicality, comfortable with improv, good dancer/moves well, sings.

RON NEEDSLY (Any gender, 15-20): This teenage wizard is obsessed with becoming great, marrying well, and gaining celebrity status. Becomes close with Cinderella and helps her discover her inner wizard. Good comedy, good singer, good dancer.

HARMONY (Any gender, 15-20): The teenager who acts as both teacher and fairy godmother to Cinderella. She knows everything about wizarding history and isn’t afraid of putting people in their place. Or harmonizing with them. Good singer, good dancer.

PROFESSOR SNAP (Any gender, 30-80+) This seemingly evil professor has a keen interest in Cinderella and her ability to become a wizard. Snaps - a lot. Good physicality, comfortable with improv, moves well, sings.

THE NEEDSLY TWINS (Any gender, 15-20) Ron’s older siblings who claim to have ESP and often experience visions (which may or may not be real). Good physical comedy, move well, sing.

ADULT/YOUTH ENSEMBLE: Will play variety of characters, must move well and sing, may have spoken lines.

Please submit your audition request no later than Sept 12, 2022.
